I’m Jess—the heart behind the Collective.
I’m a hairstylist, nail artist, entrepreneur, wife, and proud dog mom of four. I’ve always loved working hard and bringing ideas to life. Beauty has been a huge part of my life, but for me, it’s never been just about hair or nails. I love helping people feel beautiful, confident, and more like themselves. I’m creative at heart, and I love turning an idea into something beautiful.
My four dogs definitely keep life interesting and ensure my house is never truly clean. And behind every crazy idea and new adventure is my incredibly patient husband, who has supported me through it all—even when a “small project” somehow becomes something much bigger.
After years behind the chair, I decided it was time to create something of my own. Hair & Soul Collective is more than a salon to me—it’s a reflection of my vision and creativity, and a place where people feel welcomed, comfortable, inspired, and completely themselves.
I’m passionate about dimensional, lived-in color, beautiful blends, nails, and all the little details that make someone feel their best. But most of all, I’m passionate about people and the relationships I’ve built with my clients.
I’m incredibly grateful for the journey that brought me here and excited for what’s ahead. Hair & Soul Collective is my new chapter—where beauty, confidence, and a little bit of soul come together.

Hey there! My name is Madison, but I mostly go by Madi! I started my journey in the beauty industry at 16 years old, and I now have over 10 years under my belt as a licensed cosmetologist.
My favorite service to provide is a natural, "sun-kissed" highlight, but also appreciate the satisfaction of a simple root retouch or fresh haircut. In addition to color and cuts, I'm certified in multiple extension methods and am proud to be one of the few options in the area offering custom airbrush spray tans!
At the end of the day, I love knowing that l've helped someone feel a little more confident— whether it's with fresh hair color, the smallest trim, or the glow of a "just because" spray tan.
As for me, I'm very much a "go with the flow" type of gal, a professional procrastinator, someone who always tries to find the silver lining in every situation. When I'm not in the salon, you can usually find me on the back of the Harley with my other half, searching for a new water hole for my two Aussies to play in, or soaking up time with my new baby boy.
I'm so grateful to have a career that allows me to connect with so many amazing people while doing what I love. I can't wait to have you in my chair and help you leave feeling like the best version of yourself!

Hi, I’m Makayla! I’ve been a licensed hairstylist since 2014 and have spent more than a decade helping my clients feel confident, beautiful, and completely themselves.
I specialize in blonding, dimensional color, lived-in color, extensions, and smoothing treatments, and I’m certified in both Keratin Complex and hot head extensions. I also offer special occasion styling and airbrush makeup for weddings and events.
For me, doing hair is about so much more than the finished look. I love building lasting relationships with my clients and creating a comfortable, relaxed experience where you can come in, unwind, and leave feeling your best.
After years of working in Morgantown, I’m so excited to bring Hair by Makayla back to Fairmont and welcome both longtime and new clients into my chair.
When I’m not behind the chair, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family or working on one of my creative business projects.
I can’t wait to have you in my chair!
